The Alien series (no longer a quadrilogy? or do we not count Prometheus, like how most Star Wars fans don’t count the prequel movies?) movie and costume design review masterpost at Hello, Tailor.
The costumes of Alien, Part 1: Uniforms and characterisation. & The costumes of Alien, Part 2: Space suits, retrofuturism, and Prometheus.
The costumes of Aliens, or, James Cameron says Put A Gun On It.

Political Animals does manage to mimic my personal favorite aspect of TGW: the Alicia/Kalinda. As with that favored pair, PA features a wonderfully prickly but respectful relationship between Elaine and Carla Gugino’s fabulous reporter. It seems that in this show, too, the tensions between their deeper solidarity will drive the show forward. And I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Elaine and Susan exchanging looks in the first episode of Political Animals.
I just watched the Political Animals pilot, and it was pretty good — not WOW AMAZING yet or anything, but most of its problems were the kind of “too much exposition” issues you get with a lot of pilot episodes.
The REALLY important thing is that SIGOURNEY WEAVER IS FUCKING BOSS and that this show is 100% pure awesome femslash between her character (the Secretary of State and ex-wife to a philandering former president, played by Ciaran Hinds) and the young reporter who is obsessed with her. PURE. AWESOME. FEMSLASH. Seriously. Watch it and see. Were this a show with two male leads in similar roles, a fandom would appear for it so quickly that you’d hear a sonic boom.
