Logistically speaking, the extended final battle sequence in this movie made no sense at all. From an ethical and strategic standpoint, every one of Superman’s decisions was a nightmare. You know, between TDKR (Gotham gets fucked) and MoS (Metropolis gets FUCKED) - The prospects of the country in the DC cinematic universe is NOT good. Imagine if within the span of two years, both Chicago and New York gets decimated. WOAH

That critic above made me think of The Avengers final battle where one of Steve Rogers’s first orders was to keep the aliens contained to a 3 block area (“Turn it around or turn it to ash”) and then he ordered the police to move the civilians underground and into safety, to save as many of them as possible.

Okay, honestly, the more reviews I hear the more horrible the movie sounds.

I was talking about this with my sister after I watched the movie. There was a particular part of the movie I found more stupid than the rest. There was a part of the city that was completely destroyed (and for a moment I thought I was watching TDKR instead of MoS) and Zod and Clark were standing there. They could fight there and nothing else would be destroyed because there wasn’t anything else but debris and ruins (and some of the people of Daily Planet that are really brave, I have to give them that. Everything was falling apart, some super powerfull aliens were fighting and they were standing there, watching, because they are that hardcore) but Clark noticed that there were too many buildings standing still and decided to destroy them all. There really, really, was no need.

The movie is not terrible bad, but is nor particulary good. I still think the best movies of Superman/Man of Steel are Christopher Reeves’

yeah but at the beginning of the series he THINKS all 8 of them are dead. so like, if it’s his nightmare or whatever, it’s still all 8 family members. ALSO, cora is still kind of “beyond his grasp”, IMO?

you really, really really should watch Orphan Black. cannot recommend highly enough, and is also super interesting from a costuming point of view as well as being the best new tv series i've seen in a long time. (also i just really want to read your thoughts on it so...)

also, it’s a crime that alexis denisof doesn’t have a hugely successful career as a comedy leading man. because oh my godddddd.

Kryptonian designs don’t make any sense. Lara wears a flowing medieval gown at all times, including during childbirth. Everything everywhere is made from polished marble, and looks about as comfortable as a refrigerator. The only way to access stuff on the space ships is by plugging in a USB stick. And don’t even get me started on the Kryptonian military armour, which is covered in about 400 extraneous spines that will catch on literally everything and turn the wearer into one of those deer who get their antlers stuck in a tree and then die of starvation. — Man-Child of Steel
