concept art of Padme and the twins

Star Wars fans, please don’t kill me, but I really hate how Padme died.
I’m sure a woman who grew up in the diplomatic corps, who was a tireless supporter of her people internationally, who led her people to war and pounded the senate into action had much more to live for than one man’s love. I’m sure she would have been strong enough to survive Anakin’s fall and to rededicate her life to the people of Naboo and the two children she had carried. I was really disappointed to see her portrayed as some gothic romance novel heroine whose life ended when her love left her.
I think single!Parent Padme would have been totally badass. Thank you, lovely artist, for letting me see it :)

I will never not be angry about the lazy-ass cheap way Lucas killed off Padme.
LEIA SAYS IN JEDI THAT SHE REMEMBERS HER MOTHER.
How hard would it have been to have a bit of that? Hmmm?
FUCK OFF LUCAS. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS.
On topic: These are gorgeous and I love them.

YES. Ugh, it enrages me to no end. Between the idea itself of “dying of a broken heart” while her children are being born and the continuity issues it just…aaaarg.

AUGH, FOR REAL THOUGH.
this badass woman lived through political hell, civil war, the responsibility of being a queen when I was still learning how to DRIVE, and all sorts of crazy shit. She’s shown repeatedly to be smart, witty, capable, and independent.
and she dies of a broken heart
just
kill me

the padme/anakin relationship was one of the least convincing movie relationships i’ve EVER seen. WHY COULDN’T SHE HAVE LIVED. (P.S. I love this fanart.)
